The Land Shark was developed by Neil Looy, the late President of Corporate Air Parts Inc., now known as CAPS Aviation. Neil saw a need to protect pilots and their passengers from the harsh environments that they fly over. However, in the making of this product, he found it would be useful to anyone with the potential to be exposed to hypothermia. Neil's passion for flying started at the age of 12, when he began his training to become a pilot. During his life, he pursued many avenues of aviation, such as military, airline, corporate, and films. Neil was the President of CAPS for over 30 years. His daughter, Jennifer Gamon, took the helm as President and CEO, after his death in 2017.

CAPS Aviation is now a 100% women-owned business with locations in Los Angeles and Austin, proudly serving the aviation industry through FAA-approved Part 145 repair station capabilities, tool calibration services, and FAR 135.331 crewmember emergency training.
